"At the net, I told him to keep going like this," Djokovic praises Cobolli

Novak Djokovic has once again secured a spot in the Wimbledon semifinals. As was the case against Alex De Minaur, the Serb conceded the first set to Flavio Cobolli before gaining momentum and ultimately winning in four sets (6-7, 6-2, 7-5, 6-4 in over 3 hours of play).
After the match, and before looking ahead to his semifinal against another Italian player, Jannik Sinner, the former world No. 1 praised his opponent of the day, who will enter the top 20 for the first time after the tournament.
"I have to give huge credit to Flavio (Cobolli) for his great tournament and also for the tough battle he put up today (Wednesday). He played really well. I faced him once last year in Shanghai.
"We’ve practiced together several times on different surfaces, but never on grass. I watched him play here at Wimbledon, and I knew he was in good form. But of course, it’s always different facing someone in competition compared to practice.
"He’s a very talented player, and I think we’ll be seeing a lot more of him in the future—I wish him all the best. At certain moments in the match, he served so well that I couldn’t even anticipate attacking on the return.
"He’s improved a lot over the last six months since I last played him. The results show his progress. He’s reached the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career.
"At the net, I told him to keep going like this. He has a bright future ahead if he continues this way," Djokovic elaborated to Tennis World Italia after securing his place in the final four.
