ATP Announces Considering New Rules Due to Heat in Shanghai
The Shanghai Masters 1000 has been the subject of numerous controversies due to many withdrawals and players suffering from the heat and humidity.
A concern that is becoming increasingly recurrent in ATP tournaments and raises questions. Following this, the ATP made a statement to Reuters.
The organization states: "In parallel, the ATP medical services team is implementing several measures in case of extreme heat, to help protect the health of players during the competition.
This remains under study and additional measures, including the implementation of an official heat policy, are currently being evaluated in consultation with players, tournaments, and medical experts.
Player safety remains a top priority for the ATP."
