Auger-Aliassime Withdraws Last Minute in Rome
Still without a single victory on clay this year, Félix Auger-Aliassime will not have the opportunity to regain confidence in his form in Rome.
Originally scheduled to face Thiago Seyboth Wild this Saturday in his opening match, the world No. 27 ultimately withdrew. According to journalist José Morgado, the withdrawal is due to a lower back issue. He has been replaced in the draw by lucky loser Hugo Dellien, ranked 103rd in the world.
Auger-Aliassime is expected to compete at the ATP 500 in Hamburg, which begins right after Rome. This will be his chance to end his streak of five consecutive losses on tour, four of which came in his opening match.
