Beaten in the final, Musetti can't wait to be reunited with his son: "I just want to give him a hug".
Lorenzo Musetti is taming the turf. A semi-finalist in Stuttgart, he did even better at Queen's, where he reached the final. After knocking out De Minaur in the first round (1-6, 6-4, 6-2), he finally faced a better opponent in the final. Dominated by a very good Tommy Paul (6-1, 7-6), the gifted Italian was unable to reach the last step.
Interviewed after the match, Musetti showed himself to be very fair-played, while admitting that he was looking forward to being reunited with his family: "This is certainly one of the best weeks of my career. I want to congratulate Tommy (Paul) because he deserved to win. It was hard for me to keep up with his incredible level.
Fortunately, I saved face a little at the end with the debreak and by fighting with all my strength to get to the 3rd set (finally losing the tie-break of the 2nd set 10 points to 8).
I'd like to dedicate this very special week to my little boy, Ludovico. I just want to go home and hug him.Thank you."
