Bertolucci Optimistic About Sinner's Return: "I’m Sure He’ll Have Had a Splendid Preparation"
After three months without competition, Sinner will make his comeback at home in Italy during the Rome Masters 1000. Still the world number one, the 23-year-old player has been training intensively to be ready by May 7.
In an interview with Sky Sport, Paolo Bertolucci shared his thoughts on the return of the three-time Grand Slam winner. According to him, there’s no need to worry about the form Sinner will display:
"Since he’s not coming back from an injury, he’ll return without any mental reservations or fears. Of course, the pressure will be immense. Everyone is waiting to see how he performs. But I’m sure he’ll have had a splendid preparation.
For a normal athlete, I always say, it takes two tournaments of 5 to 7 matches to find the right rhythm. But since we’re talking about a phenomenon here and not just a human being, I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes off immediately like a rocket."
