An icon among icons, Billie Jean King doesn't mince her words: the Evert-Navratilova rivalry should be considered the greatest in history... across all disciplines.

Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova left their mark on women's tennis in the 70s and 80s, facing each other 80 times (with a record of 43-37 in favor of Navratilova), including 14 Grand Slam finals and each winning 18 Grand Slam singles titles (with 15 consecutive between the Australian Open 1981 and Wimbledon 1985).

Staggering numbers that, according to Billie Jean King, another icon of women's tennis, don't resonate enough in the current era:

"I think their rivalry is the best in the history of sports, not just tennis. If they were two men, people would be talking about it all the time," said the former world No.1 to the WTA site.
