Binaghi tackles Kyrgios on the Sinner case: "I told Jannik that it helps to have idiots attacking you"
Nick Kyrgios has been very critical of Jannik Sinner since this summer.
In the wake of the world number 1's coronation at the Cincinnati Masters 1000, the tennis world learned that he had tested positive for clostebol during the Indian Wells tournament last March.
On numerous occasions, the Australian claimed in the media that he had lost all respect for Sinner.
The President of the Italian Tennis Federation, Angelo Binaghi, has slammed his fist down on Kyrgios and has not been very kind to him.
"There's no longer any need to make the slightest comment on the subject. Even the AMA's accusers support Sinner's reconstruction.
He remains one of the cleanest and most exemplary athletes in world sport. This incident happened, but it's becoming a textbook case.
The rules will change and it's not fair to leave an innocent boy on the grill for so long. I told Jannik that it also helps to have idiots attack you in life like he does.
It's extra credit. I'd worry if someone like Kyrgios said Sinner was doing well.
If they (Sinner and Kyrgios) were to meet in Australia, I'd be there and I'd laugh," he said in a statement quoted by Tuttosport.
