Boisson defeats Tomova and advances to the semifinals in Hamburg

Loïs Boisson will compete in the semifinals of the WTA 250 in Hamburg.

The French No. 1, returning to clay after a brief grass-court stint during Wimbledon qualifying, defeated Viktoriya Tomova (6-3, 6-3) in the quarterfinals this Friday.

Though she conceded two breaks in the first set, Boisson managed to tighten her game before pulling away in the second with an early break.

Looking more comfortable than in her previous match against Tamara Korpatsch, the No. 5 seed reaches her second clay-court semifinal of the year after Roland-Garros.

For a spot in the final—which would be her first at WTA level—Boisson will face world No. 39 Dayana Yastremska.

I propose the following changes to the rules:

1...a walķover will not be a loss. We have no control of player's health. If he or she is entered in a contest we expect them to play.

2...an incomplete match is not a loss. If a player forfeits we pick another match if there are more to choose.

3...this also applies if TT cancels a match. TT will not take hours to decide an outcome.

It's a shame that so many matches are being canceled. TT ,you are destroying your game ,and thereby killing your app. I don't know how many matches others have had canceled , but I'm at 3 and it's only thursday.
