Boisson Triumphs in Quarterfinal Against Andreeva

Boisson faced Andreeva in the Roland-Garros quarterfinals.
After a tough start for Boisson, who struggled with her opponent’s backhand and drop shot quality, the French player gradually fought her way back into the match to lead 5-4 and earn three set points on the Russian’s serve. Resilient, Andreeva defended her service game to force a tiebreak. In a neck-and-neck battle during this decisive set, Boisson ultimately clinched it (8-6) to the cheers of Court Philippe-Chatrier.
In the second set, Andreeva took control at 3-0 before the world No. 361 staged another comeback to seize the advantage. The Russian showed clear signs of frustration, even signaling for a member of her team to leave the court. At her breaking point, she conceded her service game with a ninth double fault. Boisson secured a historic quarterfinal victory (7-6, 6-3) after 2 hours and 8 minutes of play.
In her first Grand Slam, the 22-year-old delivered an incredible performance, benefiting from a wildcard to reach the semifinals at Porte d’Auteuil. She will now face the world No. 2 and 2022 finalist, Gauff.
