"Carlos plays the same way as Roger, but just at a higher level," Mouratoglou compares Alcaraz and Federer's game
In an interview shared by *The Tennis Gazette*, Osaka's coach, Mouratoglou, revisited his comments about Alcaraz and Federer. According to him, the Spaniard has reached a higher level than the Swiss because the tour's standard is constantly improving:
*"When I say Carlos plays the same way as Roger, but just at a higher level, I say it because these are the new generations and tennis is evolving. What I mean is that they have the same type of game. An incredible forehand that moves around the backhand and a very complete game with drop shots, serve-and-volley.
Trying to dominate, taking the ball early, coming to the net whenever he has the chance. He’s a very complete player. Who does that on the tour? Not many players—it’s very rare. Technically, many players could do it, but they don’t really dare to during matches.
Carlos and Roger have the same vision of tennis, of course with different styles. Roger is more fluid, naturally, and he’ll probably always be the most fluid player to ever play. But it’s the same type of tennis—that’s what I mean."*
