Cazaux and Rinderknech Advance to Kitzbühel Quarterfinals
Arthur Rinderknech and Arthur Cazaux took to the courts in Kitzbühel this Wednesday, competing for a spot in the quarterfinals.
Rinderknech faced Norbert Gombos, a qualifier who had defeated Hugo Gaston in the first round. The match started poorly for the Frenchman, as he lost the first set in a tie-break.
However, he managed to regain his composure perfectly, winning the second set 6-4. In the third set, despite facing a break point against him, Rinderknech secured a break in the ninth game.
He ultimately triumphed 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 and will now face Yannick Hanfmann in the quarterfinals.
As for Cazaux, he went up against the tournament’s seventh seed, Francisco Comesana, in a match where he was not the favorite.
The Frenchman delivered an almost flawless performance, conceding just one break point, which he saved. He won 6-4, 7-6 and will now take on Jan-Lennard Struff for a place in the semifinals.
