Cerundolo will be Alcaraz's opponent in the second round in Monte Carlo
Francisco Cerundolo secured his spot in the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 this Monday by comfortably defeating Fabio Fognini (6-0, 6-3).
The Argentine, who was in good form during the American tour in March (quarterfinals in Indian Wells and Miami), will be the next opponent for Carlos Alcaraz.
As a reminder, the world No. 3 is participating in the Monte Carlo tournament for the second time in his career, having played just one match in 2022, where he was eliminated in the second round by Sebastian Korda.
This will be the third meeting between the two men (Alcaraz leads with two wins to zero) and the first on clay.
