Chardy reveals the secret of his WTA collaboration: "There may be a sequel".
Jérémy Chardy, Ugo Humbert's coach since 2022, made a surprise appearance this week at the WTA tournament in Angers, as part of Alycia Parks' (world no. 80) box.
The American player, who will play in tomorrow's tournament final against Belinda Bencic, clearly appreciated the advice given by Chardy at the start of the week.
But in an interview with Tennis Actu, the Frenchman announced that there was nothing official between the two parties: "I did some training with Alycia and her first two rounds in Angers.
She's a young player with a lot of potential. There's a lot of work to do, so we'll see. There may be a follow-up to this collaboration.
For the moment, there's nothing concrete. I'd never seen her play before and I didn't know her at all, so it was nice to discover her."
A collaboration that has yet to be determined, as Chardy is in London this weekend to observe the performance of his player Ugo Humbert at the UTS final.
