Alycia Parks won the WTA 125 d'Angers for the second time in her career, beating Belinda Bencic (7-6, 3-6, 6-0) in the final on Sunday.
In the first set, the Swiss broke her opponent early on, but gave up her serve to win the set at 5-4. Parks then made the difference in the tie-break.
The scenario was identical in the second set, but Bencic didn't waver when she served to win the set at 5-3.
But this effort cost the former world no. 4 dearly, as she ran out of energy towards the end of the match. The final set was thus dispatched by Parks 6-0.
With this victory in Angers, the American climbs to 84th in the world rankings.
