Collins reflects on the incident with Swiatek at the Olympics: "I just hope to move on from here".
Last year, Iga Swiatek dominated Danielle Collins in the quarter-finals of the Paris Olympic Games.
Physically diminished, the American threw in the towel when trailing 4 games to 1 in the third set.
During the handshake, she told the Pole that she didn't have to be hypocritical about Collins' abdominal injury.
Danielle Collins spoke to Polish television about the incident, and is keen to put out the fire and move on.
"These are things that can sometimes happen on a tennis court. Of course, during the match, I was in a lot of pain physically, but I didn't feel comfortable with her behavior.
Of course we could have done things differently, but I just hope to move on from here.
I just want us to be the best competitors we can be and the best people we can be.
Sometimes, I step out of the box a little bit. People make mistakes. The most important thing is to concentrate on the game and produce good tennis," she declared.
