Comesaña: "I would like to play against Djokovic before he retires"
Since last summer, Francisco Comesaña has made a name for himself on the main circuit. For his first match in a Grand Slam, the Argentine delivered a great performance to eliminate Andrey Rublev at Wimbledon.
This year, the 24-year-old player reached his best ranking with a 67th place, which he currently holds thanks to his good results in recent weeks.
Before the tournament in Santiago, where he was eliminated by Sebastian Baez, Comesaña had beaten world number 2 Alexander Zverev in the quarter-finals of the ATP 500 tournament in Rio.
In an interview with Clay, the Argentine was asked about the player he would most like to face in the coming months.
"For me, this is a year filled with great firsts. And I love big challenges, so I want to play against even more top 10 players.
I would like to play against Djokovic before he retires. I don't know when that will be. I miss Federer.
I never had the opportunity to share a locker room with him. I was able to do it with Nadal, but I didn't have the chance to play against him; he has been somewhat distant from the courts lately.
Now, with Djokovic, I am increasingly in the main draws of tournaments, so if it's possible, I would like to play against him," he assured.
