Johnson compares Alcaraz to the Big 3 generation: "I feel like we've been too spoiled these past 20 years"

Currently ranked number 3 in the world, Carlos Alcaraz recently won the first indoor title of his career at the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam.
The Spaniard has, however, experienced several disappointments, with a quarter-final elimination at the Australian Open against a not fully fit Novak Djokovic, and was also prematurely defeated in Doha by Jiri Lehecka.
In the Nothing Major Podcast, former American professional player Steve Johnson compared Alcaraz with the players from the Big 3 generation and noted a significant difference between him and the players on the circuit over the past two decades.
"Against Lehecka, Alcaraz was very aggressive, he played a good match and made virtually no errors for most of the time. I don't know...
I feel like we've been too spoiled these past 20 years with Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, but also Wawrinka, Murray, Del Potro, Tsonga, and Berdych.
When they were on top, they would decisively finish their matches. In the past two years, that's not what we've seen from Alcaraz.
When he's at his best, he's better than all the other players, but his average level can fluctuate, and there are periods where he can be inconsistent within the same match, and it showed, especially in that match in Doha," Johnson assured.
