The women's singles qualifications delivered their verdict this Tuesday afternoon. Of the three French players involved, only Diane Parry managed to qualify for the main draw after victories against Oksana Selekhmeteva (6-2, 7-5) and then Elisabetta Cocciaretto (6-2, 6-2).

Thus, the native of Nice knows her opponent in the first round, which is Irina-Camelia Begu, ranked 75th in the WTA. A match against Anna Kalinskaya in the second round would then be on the program if she succeeds.

The other two French players in the running both were defeated by the same player. Thus, Chloé Paquet (2-6, 6-3, 6-0) and Elsa Jacquemot (7-6, 2-6, 7-5) were beaten by the world's 99th-ranked player, the Ukrainian Yuliia Starodubsteva.

The latter has drawn Linda Fruhvirtova, a player invited by the organizers. The winner of this clash will face Karolina Muchova in the second round.

Among the other qualified players, note the match-up between Anna Blinkova and Panna Udvardy. Zeynep Sonmez will challenge Belinda Bencic, Francesca Jones will be up against Dayana Yastremska. Ranked 625th, the revelation Teodora Kostovic, who defeated Ruse and Stefanini, will face Eva Lys.

The returning Aliaksandra Sasnovich will have to overcome Ann Li. Finally, Rebeka Masarova and Jana Fett have drawn Ajla Tomljanovic and Bernarda Pera, a lucky loser after a last-minute withdrawal in the women's draw.

As much as I love watching Alcaraz at his best, I'd love to see Alex taking this, he's such a tryer, and getting married and his humour and humility...

Favoritism?

Last year: Sinner seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 2.

This year: Alcaraz seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 3.

That means: 7 matches in 15 days for Alcaraz, 7 in 13 days for Sinner; and no rest day for Sinner between quarter and semis, 1 full day rest for Alcaraz.

Also, on the first very hot day, the organizers schedule Sinner...

TT- Your pop up ads almost make the app unusable.

FYI- Ive never bought a single item from any of them after years of using your app, a goal that started as short term but has developed into long term.
