Eala Before Facing Swiatek Again in Madrid: "Every Match Is a Different Story"

This Tuesday, Alexandra Eala advanced to the second round of the WTA 1000 in Madrid. The Philippine player comfortably defeated Viktoriya Tomova (6-3, 6-2) and earned the right to face defending champion Iga Swiatek in the next round.
This match will feel like a revenge opportunity for the world No. 2, who was defeated by Eala in the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 in Miami several weeks ago (6-2, 7-5).
Invited by the Spanish tournament organizers, the world No. 72 reflected on her victory against the Bulgarian but was primarily questioned by WTA media about the rematch of their Florida encounter.
"Now that the pressure has settled, I try not to think too much about Miami. Personally, it comes to mind when everyone asks me about it, but in my head, I have my whole life to reflect on those moments, and I’ll always cherish those memories.
But the tour and competition continue, so for now, I’m fully focused on Madrid. I truly believe every match is a different story.
Even if it’s against the same player each time, whether I face her in Miami or Madrid, this season or next year, it will always be a different story from the last one," Eala stated, as reported by the WTA’s official website.
