Dad, you're really good, but you know with Carlos, you're going to lose," the funny anecdote from Fognini's wife about their son

Fognini delivered a very high-level performance in his final participation at the legendary Wimbledon tournament. Speaking to *La Gazzetta dello Sport*, his partner Flavia Pennetta shared her thoughts on the Italian's last match:
"It’s always difficult to move from thought to action when it comes to ending a career that has been part of your entire life. I think he’s satisfied, that he’s made his decision. Still, I’ll support him no matter what he chooses. By the way, did Carlos say Fabio could play until he’s 50? I had to scold him. We shouldn’t put strange ideas in his head (laughs)."
During the interview, Pennetta also talked about their son Federico’s admiration for the world No. 2. In fact, Fognini had asked for the Spaniard’s jersey after their match:
"Of course, he gave it to him. And even with dedication. Carlos is a very kind person, and you know Fabio has a part of him that’s Spanish. He’s known Alcaraz for a long time, as well as his team members. As for my son, Federico told his dad after the match: 'Dad, you’re really good. But you know with Carlos, you’re going to lose, right (laughs)?'
