Dallas: It's hard for Paul, Fritz eliminated

The ATP 500 tournament in Dallas produced a few surprises last night. Tommy Paul, a newcomer to the top 10, had to work hard against Ethan Quinn.
The American won 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 in 2 hours 15 minutes against the 199th-ranked player in the world. Paul made things difficult for himself, despite serving for the match in the second set at 5-4.
He then conceded his serve twice in a row to lose 7-5.
Taylor Fritz, meanwhile, lost to Denis Shapovalov. A tournament favorite, the world No. 4 lost in three sets, 2-6, 6-3, 7-6.
Despite a good start, Fritz then collapsed. For his part, Shapovalov, by winning 7-6 in the last set, put an end to a series of 12 matches in a row lost in the third set tie-break.
It was also his first win against a member of the top 10 since 2022.
