Daniil Medvedev jokes about his fines: "If I played for money, I wouldn't do anything crazy on the court"
Always just as frank, Daniil Medvedev humorously discussed his repeated outbursts on the court. The Russian acknowledges paying a high price but refuses to hold back: "I don't play for money. It's the emotions, it's life."
Having had an up-and-down season, Medvedev has regularly drawn attention for his antics on the court and his fits of anger.
For Bolshe!, the Russian joked about his behavior and the numerous fines he has received from the ATP:
"I'm afraid to know how many fines I've paid over the course of my career. It perfectly proves that I don't play for money. If I only played for money, I wouldn't do anything crazy on the court. But it's the emotions, it's life and it's sport.
If they showed me the total amount of my fines, I'd probably go cry. It would be nice to live without fines, but I'm a guy who has emotions on the court and I can't help it."
