For the third consecutive year, Italy has qualified for the Davis Cup semifinals.

Despite the absence of its two leaders, Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti, the Squadra Azzurra left no chance for Austria, the surprise nation of this Final 8 held in Bologna.

Matteo Berrettini perfectly launched his team by dominating Jurij Rodionov in two sets (6-3, 7-6). Immediately after, Flavio Cobolli, promoted as Italy's number one this week, confirmed by mastering Filip Misolic, world number 79, with a decisive score of 6-1, 6-3 in one hour of play.

Thanks to this success, Italy advances to the final four where they will face Belgium on Friday.
