Berrettini savors qualification against Austria in Davis Cup: 'This competition has always been very important to me'

Matteo Berrettini allowed the Italians to win the first point in the Davis Cup quarterfinal against Austria this Wednesday afternoon. The former top 10 player thus put his country in a favorable position to reach the semifinals, the stage of the competition where they will face Belgium for a spot in the final.

They say this competition has lost its value over the years, but I still feel the best emotions when I play it. I am proud to see the efforts of the whole team and the camaraderie that builds between teammates. I've often struggled to find the motivation to continue, but with the Davis Cup, I've always had it very present," Berrettini assured Punto de Break.
