De Jong Speaks on Sinner: "The Pressure Is on Him, and I’ll Use It to My Advantage"

As a lucky loser, Jesper De Jong won his first two matches to qualify for the third round of the Rome Masters 1000. Notably, he defeated world No. 26 and Monte-Carlo semifinalist Davidovich Fokina (6-0, 6-2).
For his next match, he will face world No. 1 Sinner, who is returning to his home country of Rome. Speaking to the Dutch press and relayed by *Punto de Break*, the 24-year-old player shared his thoughts ahead of the clash:
"He will have all the pressure. A lot of pressure on him, because we’re in Rome, and I plan to use that to my advantage. It’s true that, being No. 1, I don’t think he’ll crack under pressure so easily, but we’ll see. I’ll try to exploit that. What’s clear is that I’m the underdog, and he’s the one who has all the pressure to win."
Scheduled on the center court, the two players are set to play in the third slot, right after the match between Paolini and Ostapenko.
