De Minaur has no desire to face his fiancée on court: "I'd rather play with her as a partner".
Alex De Minaur and Katie Boulter announced their engagement this week, just before the start of the United Cup where they represent Australia and Great Britain respectively.
Unfortunately, both nations are in the same group (Group F) with Argentina.
A situation that will force them to face each other, although Alex De Minaur already has an idea in mind not to play the mixed doubles:
"If you take a look at my doubles results, I'm on 0-10 over the last two years, so I don't think I'm the best option.
We have Matthew Ebden on the team who won an Olympic medal and a Grand Slam this year. So I think he'd take my place.
I'd rather play with her (Boulter) as a partner than against her, let's put it that way."
