Dimitrov stalls in Masters race

Eliminated in the 2nd round in Vienna by Tomas Machac, Grigor Dimitrov can almost forget about qualifying for the Masters.

While the race for the Turin Masters was revived yesterday with the defeats of Casper Ruud and Tommy Paul, Grigor Dimitrov failed to take his chance.

The Bulgarian was beaten by Tomas Machac after a 2h30 battle (6-7, 6-4, 6-3).

Following this defeat, he will at least have to reach the final in Paris next week if he is to qualify for the Masters.

A major blow for the world No.9, who could see his season come to an end sooner than he had hoped.
