Mensik to enter the Top 50

Following his qualification for the quarter-finals in Vienna, Jakub Mensik will appear in the Top 50 for the first time in his career.

In Vienna today, the Czech defeated Miomir Kecmanovic (6-3, 7-6) in two sets to reach the quarter-finals.

This was his eleventh victory in his last thirteen matches, having only beaten Francisco Cerundolo in Beijing and Novak Djokovic in Shanghai.

Thanks to this momentum, Mensik will reach the highest ranking of his career next Monday, at best 47th in the world. At 19, he will be the youngest player in the Top 50.
