Novak Djokovic reaches the last 16 of Wimbledon for the sixteenth time. This brings him within two points of Roger Federer's record of 18. Although not playing his best tennis, the Serb was solid enough to turn things around after losing the first set to Alexei Popyrin. In the end, he prevailed in three hours and four sets (4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6).
Djokovic will probably have to raise his game a little more in the next round, when he faces Holger Rune. The 21-year-old Dane isn't playing his best tennis either, but he's probably got his confidence boosted by managing to get out of a very complicated situation. He won after losing the first two sets to Frenchman Quentin Halys on Court 18 (1-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 6-1).
