Daniil Medvedev is starting to show his stuff at Wimbledon. After two hesitant opening matches, Medvedev clearly stepped up a gear against Struff (6-1, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6).
Faced with a very aggressive German, the world number 5 managed his match well, played over two days because of the rain.
Taking advantage of his opponent's very shaky start, the Russian quickly took control and never relinquished it. Despite a fine surge from Struff in the third set, the last year's semi-finalist was able to raise his game to close out the match in 4 sets.
Having qualified, he now faces a serious outsider in the last 16: Grigor Dimitrov.
An undecided duel that promises to be exciting!
