Djokovic injures his knee again and will miss the Olympic semi-finals?

Concern surrounding Novak Djokovic. The Serb appears to have re-injured his right knee against Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarter-finals of the Olympic Games on the clay of Roland-Garros. The injury is similar to the one that forced him to withdraw from the quarter-finals of the French Open in June, before undergoing meniscus surgery.

Djokovic's withdrawal from the semi-finals is a possibility. It's not certain that he'll be able to defend his chances against Lorenzo Musetti this Friday evening. All the more so as the world no. 2 has not been reassuring in his post-match interviews. He suggested that he would need a miracle for the rest of the tournament.

Novak Djokovic: "I'm very worried, to be honest. I don't know what to say. The pain was very strong for two games after it happened. I don't even know whether I slipped, hit my head or something else.

It's all similar to what I experienced at Roland Garros, where I managed to finish the match, only to find out later that the injury was serious. I don't know what to say. I'm happy with the win, but I'm worried about what's to come. I pray that everything will go well."

Another fake injury! He is well known for this trying to lure the opponent into false insecurity!

As usual, he's using reverse psychology to trick his opponent, because then Lorenzo will have that thought in the back of his mind.

More bulls**t from Novak as usual, just before an important match, especially when he's worried about his opponent, as Lorenzo stands a chance of winning.

Same old stories with the fake injuries, the acting and the weeping 😂. He could very well fit in the circus 🤣

When Rafa is injured (and this is almost every time he is losing a match) then he is a hero for fighting. But when Nole is having an injury, he is a cheater...

No comment here...

I'm curious, bogbot, how valuable is that gold medal in comparison to a GS, or ATP Masters.....?

TT is clearly the last oasis of die-hard Novak Djokovic haters, especially now that their favorites are leaving the scene. Insane claims that a man who recently underwent surgery is faking an injury only speaks to the level of desperation and stupidity of those who love some other tennis players. They are still under the delusion that Novak is hated, and the fact that in Western countries there is a certain number of those who do not like him contributes to the development of this illusion of theirs. Try to understand - only part of the western world does not like him, many do, but the western world makes up a very small and insignificant part of the planet compared to the much larger rest where he is worshipped. It is obvious that through these comments and support for Novak's haters, you are only healing your wounds after Novak destroyed your favorites on the field for years. I really wish you to recover - Novak is the best in history and your hatred cannot and will not change that. Try to channel that much energy into something more useful than hate, you'll feel better. Greeting

Bogbot, you can condole yourself with all those "sportsmanship", "not loved", "not helping grandma crossing the street"........crap as much as you want.

Those are just yours and people like you the last desperation to twist the truth and the obvious.

The bottom line is that facts and results don't lie, but haters opinions do.

hutchings007 There is so much hatred in you, you must have suffered a lot because of Novak's success. I wish you to recover, that one day you will be a little better

Yes Hutchings but at this point he's done it so many times that I don't think Lorenzo will even blink.

The truth is Djokovic could beat Lorenzo from a wheelchair.

So when Andy or Rafa or Roger are injured they are "injured for sure" and when Novak gets injured, he's "faking it"? Do you realise how stupid you sound?

I really hope and wish that Djokovic injury is fake.......same as so many people here wish about theirs.

Hutchings007, he is The GOAT and everyone knows that.....even you, just hard to swallow.

But, if you sincerely don't know, then maybe your injury is not fake.

This definitely shows it was a fake injury and something other than meniscus. Quite a joke really and clearly playing some mind games. Ultimately we all know how much he himself wants the gold medal to be more comparable to two of his peers. This just seems to be getting the excuse in early or angling for the evening time slot to allow more recovery and his preferred cooler playing conditions. If this is a true injury their is no way he will be vaguely competitive today.

STADams,

Re the grandma comment. There is a difference between most sucessful and greatest. For example for many years Schumacher was the most sucessful F1 driver, but not considered by a great many to be the greatest, due to many sportsmanship and other issues he was at the core of. Djokovic is viewed in a similar way, especially when you compare him to Nadal and Federer. Hence its debatable even to talk about the greatest between those 3.

Remember that for years and years Roy Emerson had the lead on 12 Slams, but was hardly mentioned in GOAT type discussions. It was really only when sampras hit his 13th that slam count became considered and even then debate was had Sampras 14 vs. 8 Agassi with the Golden slam and all Agassi did for bringing tennis into the mainstream.

Debate is quite healthy at the end of the day, not screaming and crying people down for having a different view or even for simply wanting a discussion.

Novak fakes injury?

Haters, please quote when he faked injury and after that played as he was brand new.

Besides that, many of you wrote in the same way (shameless) on his RG injury.

That's why he is not loved...just poor sportsmanship and always using gamesmanship. He does not need those antics, he is great with simply his play

I don't think people do think djoke is the goat. It's clearly debatable as ever and the lack of gold medal doesn’t help. Also looks quite possible he will finish slamless this year, especially if there is something smaller than reported lingering on the knee

There is also the aspect of greatness not just being about results only, but also about conduct and sportsmanship, which most would agree he badly falls down on.

Shame there's lots of swearing towards us rather than putting a constructive argument across. The typical Novak's fan, just blinded by their so called hero that most disliked because of his tendency for the boy cried wolf. There's nothing wrong with him right now? Is there?! I rest my case!

Bogbot,

What "healthy discussion" you expect when you call Djokovic surgery fake and you see only his "bad behaviour", while having blind eye for the others.

Why don't you enlighten us about Fed, Rafa's, Murray...... surgery? Were they real?

As much as I care, Schumacher can be your greatest tennis player.

Love him or hate him, nothing will change Novak GOAT status.

I'm even surprised that there are people who still even talk bout this obvious, bringing the nonsense and my grandma into discussion.

What a terrible pity, for him and tennis history.

STADams, I would say the gold medal is in a separate class to any other tournament, owing to the fact you only have opportunity to win it a few times in a decent career.
