Djokovic on the New Generation: The Sport Will Outlive Everyone

Novak Djokovic will make his debut at the Madrid Masters 1000 this Saturday against Matteo Arnaldi.

The Serb approaches this tournament with a lot of perspective: "Honestly, I don’t have many expectations in terms of results.

I’m very excited to play here again. I feel a lot of positive energy, and I hope to use it to play well."

He also spoke about the current new generation that is taking over. At nearly 38 years old, Djokovic knows he won’t last forever, even if he still has some cards to play.

"You can feel there’s a generational shift—it’s obvious. But I’m still trying to represent the 'old guard.'

The sport will outlive everyone. It’s bigger than any player, and it’s up to us to serve it."
