Djokovic's kind words in praise of Faria's performance: "In the wise words of Mr. Medvedev, if the next generation plays like this, they'll have everything".
Novak Djokovic once again conceded a set in his 2nd round match against Jaime Faria, but came through in the end after a fine battle with the Portuguese, who was playing for the first time in his career at this stage of a Grand Slam.
Always keen to acknowledge his opponents' level of play, the Serb was full of praise for Faria, ranked 125th in the world, with a small dose of humor:
"In the wise words of Mr. Medvedev, if the future generation plays like this, they'll have everything. The money, the girls, the casino.
He played exceptional tennis towards the end of the 2nd set and at the start of the 3rd. He served with two first serves throughout the match.
He's a big guy, very young. I told him at the net that his future is bright and that he should keep going."
