Draper Defeats Young Sensation Fonseca in the Third Round of Roland Garros

Draper and Fonseca faced off on Court Suzanne-Lenglen at Roland Garros.
Despite two strong performances—first against Hurkacz (30th seed) and then against local favorite Herbert—the journey of the young sensation Fonseca came to an end this Saturday against world No. 5 Draper (6-2, 6-4, 6-2). Once again, the challenge proved too great for the 18-year-old, who fell in straight sets to the Brit, just as he had at Indian Wells earlier this season.
As for Draper, he demonstrated that he is a serious contender in this Parisian tournament. He continues his momentum by reaching the Roland Garros quarterfinals for the first time in his career. This season, he has already claimed the trophy at Indian Wells and reached the final in Madrid, among other achievements.
In the next round, he will face the winner of the match between Bublik and Rocha, which is scheduled as the third match on Court Simonne-Mathieu this Saturday.
