Draw for the WTA 500 Bad Homburg: Pegula, Swiatek, Paolini, or Andreeva Set, Clashes Like Svitolina-Mertens or Alexandrova-Bencic in the First Round

While nine top 10 players competed in Berlin this week, the elite of women's tennis will also gather for the WTA 500 in Bad Homburg, just before Wimbledon.
Jessica Pegula will be the tournament's top seed and receives a first-round bye before facing Liudmila Samsonova, who reached the semifinals in Berlin, or a qualifier. She is placed in the same section as Mirra Andreeva, who will start against either Clara Tauson or Magdalena Frech—the latter having defeated her in Berlin this week.
In the bottom half of the draw, Jasmine Paolini will face either Tatjana Maria, the Queen’s Club champion, or Leylah Fernandez in her opening match. She could meet Elina Svitolina in the quarterfinals, though Svitolina will have a tough first-round clash against Elise Mertens, the recent 's-Hertogenbosch winner. Meanwhile, fourth seed Iga Swiatek will begin her grass-court season against Laura Siegemund or a qualifier.
Other intriguing first-round matchups include Sakkari-Putintseva, Shnaider-Vekic, Kostyuk-Navarro, and Bencic-Alexandrova.
