She will be very comfortable in this tournament," Roddick gives his American favorite for Wimbledon
In an interview with Tennis Channel, former champion Andy Roddick shared his thoughts on American chances on grass. According to him, one player stands out for Wimbledon this year:
"I really like Madison Keys on the American side. I think she's my favorite. She knows the grass well and has achieved good performances. She was on her way to a great result at Wimbledon last year before getting injured against Paolini. Since then, she has won a Grand Slam. I think she will be very comfortable in this tournament."
While the 30-year-old player distinguishes herself as the main contender for a title in England, one of her compatriots can also do great things, if we are to believe the three-time finalist of the 2004, 2005, and 2009 editions:
"Jessica Pegula also has a great future at Wimbledon. I know she let her lead slip against Vondrousova last year, but listen, Americans can play on this surface, that's for sure.
