"I lost a set 6-4 against her," Roddick shares an unusual anecdote about Serena Williams
Asked by Tennis Channel, Andy Roddick recalled a story about his compatriot Serena Williams. A true tennis legend, Williams shocked the tour with her precociousness by winning the US Open in 1999 at just 17 years old, defeating Hingis.
Ahead of her time, Venus' sister immediately stood out for her fierce determination, as Roddick’s amusing anecdote illustrates:
"We practiced together when we were at Rick Macci’s academy. I lost a set 6-4 to her. So, I have a losing record against her. We were around the same age. But we were different: I was dodging raindrops, while she was already lifting weights on dump trucks (smiles)."
Serena Williams began her professional career at age 14 in September 1995 at the Quebec tournament but won her first WTA match in Chicago by defeating Likhovtseva in the first round (6-3, 7-5).

I bet he beat her 3 sets to 1.
