At nearly 38 years old, Novak Djokovic is going through a rough patch, having been eliminated in the second round at Monte-Carlo and Madrid before withdrawing from Rome.

Although he has confirmed his participation in the Geneva tournament to fine-tune his preparation ahead of Roland-Garros, the Serbian has already made it clear he won’t arrive in Paris with the same ambitions as in previous years.

Chris Evert, asked by Forbes about this, believes it will be difficult for Djokovic to secure a 25th major title:

"I would never underestimate him, but let’s just say I’d be surprised if he manages to win another one. Of course, you have to give him credit. This guy has won everything, more than anyone else. I’d never say he won’t win another, but I’d be surprised.

It would be a pleasant surprise, just based on his recent results. I’ve seen him play brilliantly on grass—he’s won Wimbledon so many times—that’s why I can’t say, 'No, he won’t win another Grand Slam.' But I don’t think it will be Roland-Garros."

Exactly! The tennis world is better when he's not around. Just go and enjoy your millions with the Russian oligarchs!

Reality is some of the majors that Federer and Nadal won late in their careers was because all of the cards fell in place. They got lucky. Marion Bartoli won Wimbledon won year. No one would have bet the smallest amount on her winning it all, but all the cards fell in place and she won the trophy. She was seeded 15th and defeated the 23rd seed in the final she was expected to lose because Lisicki had a big serve. It is unlikely that Djokovic will ever win another major, but it's certainly not impossible.

The impact of the war on tennis in Ukraine: financial aid, foundations, governing bodies and all‑round headaches

Since February 2022 and the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, Ukrainian sport has been heavily affected by human, structural and economic losses. Tennis has, of course, not been spared. While Ukrainian athletes have had to rethink their entire organization, an entire country, behind the scenes, has had to adapt and change its training conditions. This extends all the way to the highest level, where professional players have spoken out, trying as best they can to help their nation.

From controversial reform to fiery statements, the Davis Cup continues to divide. Between nostalgia for the old formats and unwavering love for the jersey, players share their truths about a competition that, despite everything, still makes hearts race.

Omnipresent cameras, line judges on the verge of extinction, mistakes that persist nonetheless: technology fascinates as much as it divides. Tennis, at a crossroads, is still searching for its balance between progress and emotion.

Training future champions: spotlight on the decline of the French public model facing private academies

As federations struggle to reinvent themselves, private academies are capturing talent… but also families able to invest tens of thousands of euros a year. A system that is increasingly effective, but also increasingly unequal.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
