Fonseca: "People put pressure on me by saying I'll be the next Djokovic"
Joao Fonseca, 19, freshly crowned in Basel for his first ATP 500 title, made a statement before his debut at the Paris Masters 1000.
"I'm just a young man getting excellent results. People are starting to put a bit of pressure on me by saying I'll be the next Djokovic, but I just want to be myself.
They say I will battle with Sinner and Alcaraz. I would certainly like that to be the case. In any case, I try to do my best by working hard every day."
In Paris, Fonseca will start against Shapovalov on court 1. A match to follow after the one between Auger-Aliassime and Comesana (starting at 11am).
