"Everyone feels a bit weird," says Bublik about the playing conditions in Paris
The Rolex Paris Masters has had a makeover by moving from the Bercy arena to the La Défense arena. These changes are not without consequences for the players.
Alexander Bublik, who defeated Alexei Popyrin in the first round, shared his feelings about these new facilities.
"Honestly, I didn't feel good on the court at all. It's a new stadium, the courts are a bit slower than in previous years, and the new roof is too high, much higher than the previous one, so everyone feels a bit weird.
Personally, I arrived here on Saturday and could only train for one hour on Sunday. It was a session where I didn't feel comfortable at all. With all that, I have to be satisfied with my performance in this match.
I served well and I knew how to seize my opportunities to finish the match without any problems."
It seems, therefore, that the players will need a little time to acclimatize in order to fully express their tennis potential in Paris.
