For now, we can't compare ourselves to the Big 3," says Sinner before facing Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final
On Sunday, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz will face off in the Wimbledon final, just over a month after their epic duel at Roland-Garros.
This will be the seventh consecutive Grand Slam won by one of the two players. In a press conference, Sinner was asked about this current domination and his place in tennis history:
"There isn't a name for our era yet (smile). For now, we can't compare ourselves to the Big 3 and what they have accomplished over more than fifteen years. Six Grand Slams is just a year and a half. It's not that much. We find ourselves in this situation again. This is the second consecutive Grand Slam final we play against each other.
It's a great thing for me and it's great for this sport. The more rivalries there are, the better it is. People want to see young players compete against each other. I'm happy to be in this position. But we'll see in the future. If we can replicate this for the next three or four years, then people can reflect on it. We'll see.
