I hope I’m not on the court for five and a half hours," Alcaraz discusses the final awaiting him against Sinner at Wimbledon
On Sunday, all eyes will be on Centre Court at Wimbledon, where Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz will face off for the title.
Sinner, the world No. 1, could claim his first career victory on the London grass, while Alcaraz will aim to secure his second Grand Slam of the year and complete a triple crown that would further cement his place in tennis history.
Alcaraz, who has beaten the Italian in their last five encounters, shared his thoughts ahead of this highly anticipated final:
"Sometimes, I think back to our final at Roland Garros. I haven’t rewatched it in full, just a few highlights. It was the best match I’ve played so far. Sunday will be a big day, a great final. I expect him to push me to my limits. I’m really excited. I just hope I’m not on the court for five and a half hours. But if I have to, I’ll do it again.
I don’t have any advantage in this final. Jannik improves with every match, every day, and, like the great champion he is, he learns from every defeat. I’m sure he’ll be even better. He’ll be stronger physically and mentally. He’ll prepare to give it his all. I don’t think I have a psychological edge.
