Fucsovics praises Sinner: "Sinner is the best player in the world today".
While all the attention seems to be focused on Djokovic's poor form, Alcaraz's right-hand man and Rafa's farewell, we shouldn't forget Jannik Sinner. The Italian, who arrived at Roland-Garros with his preparations marred by a hip injury, is no threat. Before feeling his body slowing him down, Sinner had swept all before him this season (Australian Open, Rotterdam, Miami) and could well pick up where he left off.
In this respect, it was Marton Fucsovics who sought to put the church back in the center of the village. The Hungarian, eternal outsider in view of his level of play which is far superior to what his ranking might suggest, knows Sinner very well. As he says himself, his style of play is quite similar to that of the world number 2, which explains why the two men frequently train together. When asked about the current level of play of the latest Australian Open winner, Fucsovics was full of praise: "Sinner is the best player in the world today. We often train together because our games complement each other so well, otherwise he wouldn't be playing with me. It gives me confidence to be able to exchange with him, and he gets on well with me."
