Gauff believes in her chances at Roland-Garros: "I have a lot to accomplish"
Eliminated in the round of 16 at Indian Wells, Coco Gauff has been going through a slightly tougher period since the Australian Open. And she already seems focused on the clay court season, which will officially begin after the Miami tournament.
In an interview with the Roland-Garros website, she opened up about her desire to triumph at the Paris Grand Slam and her rivalry with Iga Swiatek: "I think I'm a good clay court player. I know that if I want to win this tournament, I'll probably have to beat her.
In the past, my matches against her haven't gone in my favor. She has incredible talent on any surface, but especially on clay.
Winning the tournament is a goal because I've already reached the final (in 2022, lost to Swiatek). I have a lot to accomplish here. And yes, she is the player to beat when you're at Roland-Garros."
