The women's semifinals are on the schedule this Friday at Indian Wells

The WTA 1000 tournament in Indian Wells is about to deliver its verdict. After about ten days of fierce competition on the courts, only four players remain in contention and will battle to win the trophy in California.
Among the players still in the running is the defending champion, Iga Swiatek. Impressive since the start of the tournament, the world number 2 has had no trouble defeating Caroline Garcia, Dayana Yastremska, Karolina Muchova, and Zheng Qinwen.
At midnight French time, the Polish player will face a major test in the form of Mirra Andreeva. Crowned in Dubai (where she had also beaten Swiatek on her way), the 17-year-old Russian has not lost a single set while eliminating Varvara Gracheva, Clara Tauson, Elena Rybakina, and then Elina Svitolina, and will aim to reach her fourth final on the WTA tour.
Following that, the second semifinal will also have a sense of revenge. The world number 1, Aryna Sabalenka, will seek to defeat Madison Keys in a rematch of the Australian Open final from late January. The Belarusian, who defeated Liudmila Samsonova in the previous round, was a finalist two years ago.
As for Keys, she is now on a 16-match winning streak since her loss (her only one in 2025) against Clara Tauson in Auckland.
Having won titles in Adelaide and Melbourne, the 30-year-old American is in the form of her career and will aim to reach her third final in four tournaments played this season. An exciting evening awaits in the California desert.
