Gauff Changes Coach Just Before the US Open
After Brad Gilbert last year, Gauff has once again parted ways with her coach, Matt Daly, but this time just before the US Open.
Daly joined the American's team before the WTA 1000 in Beijing last September. Aged 45, he had notably coached Canadian Shapovalov.
To replace him, the Roland-Garros champion has opted for biomechanics expert Gavin MacMillan. This choice is said to be aimed at resolving her major difficulties with her serve. Information revealed by ESPN.
The latter has already worked with a WTA player, namely Sabalenka, the current world number one. At that time, he was also in charge of improving the Belarusian's serve.
