Gauff Encourages Saville: "Tough Times Don't Last Forever"

Ranked 132nd in the world, Daria Saville has struggled to kickstart her 2025 season. On a streak of three consecutive losses, the 31-year-old Australian fell in the first round of qualifying at the WTA 1000 in Rome in recent days.
Despite a tightly contested first set, she lost to Laura Siegemund (6-4, 6-1) and hasn’t won a main-draw match outside of qualifying since Mérida in late February.
On social media, Saville posted a message: "I’m doing everything except winning matches." Currently ranked 3rd in the WTA and a finalist in Madrid recently after also enduring a slow start to the season, Coco Gauff responded to Saville’s post with words of encouragement.
"Tough times don’t last forever. You’ve already had a very successful career and so much to be proud of—and even more that you’ll achieve on and off the court that you’ll also be proud of. Stay strong," wrote the American. The comforting message resonated with Saville, who replied, "Thank you Coco," accompanied by heart emojis.
