Gauff on American tennis: "We all push each other to do better"
Coco Gauff is at Indian Wells to compete in the WTA 1000. During a press conference, she was asked about the density of American players in women's tennis.
4 Americans are in the Top 10, and counting the United Cup, they have won half of the WTA tournaments in 2025.
Gauff responds: "I think it's just about pushing each other, we all push each other to do better.
Americans, especially the women, but also the men, have great depth, and I think that pushes us to do more.
When you see someone win a tournament, you want to do the same. Yes, I think it's a healthy competition among us.
We all support each other, of course, when we're not playing against each other. But I encourage all the American women, and they are all kind.
I have no issues with them, which is great, especially considering the competition on the court."
