Gauff Overpowers Swiatek to Reach First Madrid Final

Gauff dominated Swiatek (6-1, 6-1) to secure her first career final in Madrid. She had previously defeated Andreeva in the previous round.

The American completely outplayed the Polish player in a match that lasted just 1 hour and 4 minutes. Converting five out of seven break points, the 21-year-old displayed impressive precision to defeat the four-time Roland-Garros champion.

With this victory, Gauff has now won three consecutive matches against the world No. 2 and also handed Swiatek her heaviest defeat since 2019.

In the final, she will face the winner of the other semifinal between Sabalenka and Svitolina.

I propose the following changes to the rules:

1...a walķover will not be a loss. We have no control of player's health. If he or she is entered in a contest we expect them to play.

2...an incomplete match is not a loss. If a player forfeits we pick another match if there are more to choose.

3...this also applies if TT cancels a match. TT will not take hours to decide an outcome.
