Goffin's miraculous victory over Humbert in Basel
Trailing 6-4 in the decisive tie-break, David Goffin pulled off a remarkable feat to eliminate Ugo Humbert and reach the quarters in Basel.
The Belgian saved three match points in the third-set tiebreak, trailing 6-4 and then 7-6. He finally won the tie-break by a score of 9-7 to take out his opponent of the day (3-6, 6-1, 7-6).
The win confirms Goffin's return to form, and means he'll be back in the Top 50 next week, at best ranked 49th in the world. He will face Dominic Stricker or Holger Rune in the quarter-finals.
